Google Charts

Somehow I missed this… A few days ago, Google released their Charts API. The basic premise is: you configure a URL in a certain way, and you get an image of a chart. Perfect for displaying data on a website. I’ve had several projects where I needed something like this, and always had to go about installing my own tools. Often those tools are cumbersome and ugly. This seems to work much better!

For example, the following code snippet will show you the total unique visitors to this website over the last few days:

http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?chs=400x250
&chd=s:FIDBKWI
&cht=lc
&chxt=x,y
&chxl=0:|12/11|12/12|12/13|12/14|12/15|12/16|12/17
&chxr=1,0,61
&chtt=Absolute+Unique+Visitors

Pretty cool, eh?
